IBW 2017 Conference: Prospering in the Technological Era

The Barbados international business and financial services (IB&FS) sector will again be in the spotlight during this year’s International Business Week, which runs from October 15th to 21st. Now in its 9th year, the sector’s week of activities was conceptualised to raise public awareness about the importance of Barbados’ international business sector to the country, and its contribution to the island’s growth and development.

The Barbados International Business Association (BIBA), in collaboration with Invest Barbados and other strategic partners, have planned several informative and engaging activities and events, including the flagship event of this week – a two-day conference to be held on October 19th and 20th at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St Michael.

This year’s conference, themed Prospering in the Technological Era: Innovate, Integrate, Motivate, provides a unique opportunity for delegates to gain an understanding of current issues affecting the international business and financial services sector and the global trends impacting its development.

This year’s topics include The Future of Work: Technology and Humanity, Artificial Intelligence – Is it Bad for Business?, Technology Transforming Lifestyles, Developed Market Debt is Rising – What are the Global Implications, Information: Fiction vs. Non- Fiction and The Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent BEPS: Its Implications for Double Tax Treaties.

Yes. The main car park is built to accommodate over 200 vehicles.

Yes, for 3 or more employees, there is a group discount of $750 per person instead of $900.

Which payment methods do you accept?

All payments must be made to the Barbados International Business Association (BIBA) by way of cheque or bank draft in advance of the conference. We also have a Credit Card machine here at our office.

What if I need to cancel my booking at late notice?

An administrative fee will be charged per individual on cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to the start of the conference. All bookings will be deemed as a commitment and billed unless cancelled within the aforementioned period.
